526Ralph Johnston Bluebill Drake

Very nice bluebill drake by Ralph Johnston, Detroit. Johnston was a pattern-maker by trade and was a contemporary of Ben Schmidt. The Schmidt influence on the deep wing carving is obvious. The comb-painting is worn on the wings, but still looks great. Some old hunter over-paint on chest. Dimensions are 15.5 x 7.5 x 7 (L x W x H) inches.
