518Tack-eye mallard drake, William H. Unger

Tack-eye mallard drake, William H. Unger, Danville, Illinois, 1932. This decoy is branded D. Ward 1932 and the decoy must have belonged to Mr. Ward. Unger carved solid decoys out of fence posts and electric line poles from 1932-1934. They had tack or painted eyes, and an uncomplicated paint pattern. The bottom line, though, was the decoys worked!
