This is the exact pair of kapok-canvas pintail decoys shown in Figure 8.130 on p. 309 of Wildfowl Decoys of the Pacific Coast. They were made in 1935 by Stockton, CA by Burley Russell and are in original, unused condition.

574Manuel Machado White-fronted Goose

Manuel Machado (1888-1982) was another of the Rio Vista decoy makers. The geese he made were made of canvas stuffed with excelsior and cork chips. This white-fronted goose decoy is the exact decoy shown in Fig. 8.42 (p.285) of Wildfowl Decoys of the Pacific Coast.
